Metaphysical Properties

Here is a small list of metaphysical meanings for just a few gemstones and crystals so you can start healing with crystals. There are just way too many to list all of them!

Ammonite:

One of my personal favorites, the ammonite, is a very powerful healing fossil. The ammonite is primarily associated with the Third Eye chakra, and secondarily with the Root chakra. They are associated with the zodiac signs of Aquarius and Cancer. The spiral shape symbolizes continual change and evolution. It also represents the Fibonacci sequence found throughout nature. The spiral vortex signifies our connection with the universe and our spiritual development, presenting an opening or re-awakening. Ammonites are often used to activate the Kundalini and life path energies. You can use the ammonite to aid in life changes and move in a forward, positive motion.

Ammolite:

Another favorite, ammolite, is an opal-like organic gemstone found in the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. It is made of the thin fossilized aragonite shells of ammonites. It works with the Root chakra and aids in achieving deep meditative states. Ammolite clears away negative energies and aids in moving forward from depression, stress, and anxiety. It helps you recognize the strength within to give and receive love unconditionally. It also generates more imagination and creativity, thus opening more opportunities to achieve your goals.

Amazonite:

Amazonite Heart  Amazonite Rough Crystal

Amazonite balances the feminine and masculine energies, helping you to see different points of view. It works wonders in soothing emotional traumas. It is a stone of self and universal love. Amazonite is also known as the "gambler's stone" because of its draw to good luck. It is associated with the Heart Chakra and Throat Chakra, and the Zodiac sign of Virgo.

Amber:

Fossilized Mosquito in Amber Specimen

Amber is formed from tree sap that oozed out of prehistoric trees and has been fossilized over millions of years. Insects and plant matter have been trapped in this fossilized tree sap, which adds to Amber's healing properties. Because of this, Amber is used when trying to recall, and learn from, past life experiences. It also helps when you are absolving childhood or family-related experiences.
It is a powerful healing and cleansing stone that absorbs pain and negative energy, turning it into positive energy. When cleansing and reactivating the Sacral and Solar Plexus Chakras, use Amber.
Notably, Amber also makes a sizeable difference for teething babies and toddlers! Make a stretchy necklace with Amber chips for your babes to wear to keep that troublesome pain and drool away!

Amethyst:

Healing with Amethyst Crystals

The name Amethyst came from ancient Greece, "amethustos," meaning "not drunk." It was considered a potent antidote against drunkenness, because of this, ancient Greeks would carve their wine goblets from Amethyst. The French poet Remy Belleau (1528–1577) invented a myth in which Bacchus, the god of intoxication, wine, and grapes, was pursuing a maiden named Amethyste, who refused his affections. Amethyste prayed to the gods to remain chaste. A prayer which the virgin goddess Diana answered, transforming her into a white stone. Humbled by Amethyste's desire to remain chaste, Bacchus poured wine over the stone as an offering, dyeing the crystals purple.
Because of Amethyst's "not drunk" qualities, it helps you from over-indulging in emotions and over-reacting to situations.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February. It is a fantastic healing and purification crystal for clearing negative energies from the aura and the mind. It aids in calming your mind, making it useful in meditation. Amethyst stimulates the Third Eye, Crown, and Etheric Chakras.

Blue Lace Agate:

Blue Lace Agate Cabochon

Blue Lace agate is a "soothsayer." Its energy is calming and encouraging. It will bring confidence to those who have trouble communicating by bringing clarity to their thoughts and ideas. Blue Lace will encourage calming energy to high-stress situations and will help express your anger without losing control. Its calming energies will also help those who tend to speak before they think.
Blue Lace agate is associated with the Throat and Third Eye Chakras.

Charoite:

Another one of my favorites, charoite, is a transformation stone, healing with the Violet ray. Cleansing the aura and chakras of negative energy and transforming it into healing energy, this stone will open our hearts to unconditional love. Charoite brings forth the Power of Now; I AM exactly where I should be at this very moment. It works incredibly well with uniting the Crown and Heart chakras to balance acceptance and letting go. Charoite is found only in the Chara River (where its name is derived) in Siberia, Russia.

Crazy Lace Agate:

It is an encouraging, uplifting stone and promotes self-love and confidence. Crazy Lace helps you to clearly, unobjectively look at your past, and move forward in love. It works with the Third Eye Chakra, keeping our eyes and minds open with clear perception.

Emerald:

Fire Agate:

Fire agate, one of my all-time favorites, represents the Spiritual Flame of Absolute Perfection. Fire agate is a variety of chalcedony, which is a mineral in the quartz family. Its iridescent colors are caused by light interference on thin layers of iron oxide or limonite crystals within the chalcedony.

Fire agate is associated with the Root and Sacral (1st and 2nd) chakras. It is linked with Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius and the elements of Fire and Earth. It vibrates to the number 9. Traditionally, people used fire agate to encourage shy and timid children and adults to find their voice and speak up for themselves. It is a stone of integrity, enabling a high standard of the self and others.

Fire agate stimulates sexual vitality and libido, promoting passion in love and life. It energizes the lower chakra energy and lights the inner power of life force, creativity, sexuality, and will. Fire agate helps manifest Divine guidance through action and assists in taking decisive action. See why this is a personal favorite?!

Labradorite:

Labradorite is a stunning feldspar mineral known for its reflective colors of the rainbow. It is a multi-dimensional stone, meaning it performs its work in all dimensions of life and spirit. It is beneficial when used as a cleansing stone.

It helps the wearer face their fears and overcome them by encouraging strength and perseverance. Labradorite strengthens faith in thy self and trust in the universe.

Labradorite works well with the Throat chakra, allowing energy to be clearly communicated through the body. It also works with the Third Eye and Crown Chakra and with the zodiac signs Leo, Scorpio, and Sagittarius.

Moonstone:

Moonstone helps us go with the flow of life and the flow of Mother Nature using the moon's energy. With this power, it awakens the divine feminine energies through nourishment and passion. A stone for new beginnings, moonstone guides us to inner growth and strength. It provides calmness through emotional stability. Moonstone works with the Sacral, Third Eye, and Crown chakras.

Tiger's Eye:

Tiger's Eye is a protective stone that helps the wearer release fear and anxiety while aiding in harmony and balance. It helps in making enlightened decisions and enhances creativity by focusing the mind and promoting mental clarity. Tiger's Eye aids in finding your courage and self-confidence. Tiger's Eye primarily resonates with the Root/Base chakra, the Sacral chakra, and the solar plexus chakra.

Tourmaline:

Turquoise:

Turquoise, the stone of communication, is associated with the 5th chakra. The talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors, turquoise is a stone of protection. The name turquoise is derived from the French, Pierre Tourques, which means "Turkish Stone" because the trade routes and mines that brought the stone to Europe went through Turkey. For thousands of years, turquoise has been prized as a stone of wisdom, nobility, and the power of immortality. Turquoise promotes leadership and clear communication when giving information.
